Matter – One Year In
It’s just over a year (October 2022) since the Connectivity Standards Alliance (CSA) launched the Matter standard, and a certification program for products using this ground-breaking standard.
Matter is designed to enable seamless setup and interoperability between connected devices from any manufacturer and to simplify the home automation user experience.
At Resillion, we’re pleased to have been a part of the journey so far. Through our Authorised Test Labs in Europe and China, we’ve helped existing and new device manufacturer customers to get their products certified and launched into the global market.
We’re still in the early days of this new standard and things are certainly not standing still. One year ago Resillion had just hosted the European leg of the first Matter Specification Validation Event (SVE), working with other CSA member companies to finalise the certification processes and tools for a range of core home automation product types. Just last month in September 2023, we hosted the latest SVE, for the forthcoming Matter 1.2 release, which expands the scope of the standard to more types of devices and products and makes it relevant for more manufacturers and more consumers.
The value of a seamless connectivity standard increases as our homes and the products we use become more and more connected: from lights, heating and security, to domestic appliances and robots, and smart energy systems in the future. The Resillion team is excited to be a part of the continuing development of the Matter standard and the certification scheme that is a vital part of ensuring its success.
